Sadie Baker, LPC

As a queer nonbinary/transgender woman and a survivor, I know how hard it can be to seek desperately needed help, only to be made unwelcome by the very professionals we trust to provide that help. I always strive to meet my clients with openness, respect, and compassion. I believe that therapy should provide a safer space to explore your values and strengths, gain insight into your struggles, and learn new skills for healing, transformation, and liberation.

Prior to being a therapist, I worked with LGBTQ youth experiencing homelessness, sex workers, and people living with HIV as a resource advocate for 10 years. I’m also passionate about helping clients navigate gender identity, consensual nonmonogamy, and activist burnout, as well as supporting people healing from abuse, complex trauma, or overwhelming emotions. I draw from Relational-Cultural Therapy; a feminist approach which sees our social context, internalized beliefs about ourselves, and need for connection to others as central to understanding emotional distress and the therapeutic process. I want to help you build healthier relationships and move toward mental wellness — whatever that means to you.
